on the following quotations:-
1-Nelly
said this to Hareton, at Wuthering Heights.
She was advising him to rebuild his relation with his cousin and
forget about the past after
Cathy's many attempts to
apologize to him to forgive her for her bad behavior and the way
she embarrassed him
before.
He was angry with her and felt that she hated him because
whenever he tried to show
her that he improved
himself, she either made fun of him or embarrassed him.
2- Cathy said that to
Heathcliff when Josef discovered the attack on his precious bushes
which Cathy persuaded
Hareton to clear in order to bring some plants over from the Grange.
Heathcliff asked Cathy who
had given her permission to touch them. She reminded him that

However, he declined that she had ever had any as according to Mr.
Linton's will the land
belonged to Isabella's son after Edgar's death.
3- Heatyhcliff to Nelly in
WH in his last days.
Heathcliff fulfilled all
he wanted and because Cahterine said he would degrade her as he was
poor, he became the
richest of them all as the owner of both their houses. But in his last
days he felt tired of it
and that it was in vain. When he had Hareton and Cathy with him and
could harm them, he
realized it was useless.
4- This is said by
Heathcliff to Nelly after he found it useless to execute his revenge plan
on his enemies' children
when the right time came. He confessed to Nelly his feelings towards
Hareton. He felt for him
in a variety of ways. To him, Hareton is a vivid picture of his own
youth. Heathcliff had gone
through what Hareton was going through then. Also, Hareton's
extreme likeness to Catherine
connected him with her in Heathcliff's mind. For some days
after the evening, he
talked to Nelly about the change he felt was taking place, Heathcliff
avoided meeting them at
meals. Then a change took place in which he became bright and
cheerful, very much
excited, wild and glad. He admitted to Nelly that he became within sight
of
his heaven. It was only a few hours before his death.
5-Heathcliff
to Nelly in WH in his last days.
Heathcliff
felt he was unable to continue planning and arranging to carry on his revenge.

6-
Nelly to Lockwood in WH when he was passing by the Heights to arrange matters
concerning
the
Grange with Heathcliff and knew that he was dead. Lockwood knew that Cathy and
Hareton
would
get married and live in the Grange so Lockwood asked about WH and knew from
Nelly that
it
would be locked. He commented that it would be ready for any ghosts as he
remembered
what
happened to him in that house a year ago. Nelly admitted that there would be no
more
ghosts
as all of them are at peace meaning that after Heathcliff’s death, Catherine’s
soul was at
peace
as he took with him his curse which said that Catherine’s soul would never rest
as long as
he
lived.
